Super Soups for CAFOD

St Bernard's students take up the 'super soup'challenge

All hands to the chopping board

To launch CAFOD’s Harvest Fast Day on October 2nd, students from St Bernard’s Catholic High School Rotherham took part in a CAFOD Soup Competition.  Students were asked to come up with a recipe for a soup that used simple ingredients, was easy to make, filling and didn’t cost a lot.  The winning recipe was chosen by Mrs Linda Jones the school cook with the help of her catering team.  Ten students from the form who submitted the winning recipe went toJamie Oliver’s Ministry of   Food in Rotherham to make the soup.  The soup was then donated to the Rotherham Homeless Project ‘The Lighthouse’.  As well as that, the competition raised £115 for CAFOD Harvest Fast Day.  Well done, St Bernard’sHanding the soup to Lighthouse
