CAFOD commends Beavers Fundraising

The 4th Dronfield St Pauls Beaver Group, with leader Susan Dowling, and The Holy Spirit CAFOD team.

The 4th Dronfield St Pauls Beaver group set about to raise £30 with the intention of buying clean water for a family. Not only did they beat their target of £30, they went and smashed it, raising a whopping £337! From sponsored silences to coffee mornings the 11  beavers fantastic efforts have enabled them to give 5 gifts of water (instead of the original one), 11 Adult literacy teachers and books, and 11 School starter packs for children.

The CAFOD team from the Holy Spirit in Dronfield came along to receive the money raised for CAFOD and commend their efforts. It was an absolute pleasure for all the CAFOD team at Holy spirit to share in their efforts and agreed that the Beaver groups fundraising was a “selfless shining example” of what young people often do to help others. The 6 to 8 years olds provide an excellent example of how innovative fundraising can be, we adults should take note, and look to see what we might do to follow their example. To find out how you might fundraise this lent go to Give it up!

Not only have the Beavers raised a huge amount already, theyre not stopping, having agreed to continue fundraising! The beavers have now set about raising funds to train a village vet! Their vital support for CAFOD is going to have a massive impact around the world, helping those less fortunate, the 4th Dronfield St Pauls Beaver group should give themselves a well deserved pat on the back.
