St Pius X Family of Schools Thanksgiving Mass

St Pius Family of schools Mass

CAFOD Hallam had the privilege of attending the St Pius X family of Schools Mass on Tues 14th October. The Mass was held in St Joseph’s church, Rawmarsh with refreshments afterwards in St Joseph’s primary school next door.

The Mass was a great celebration and brought together the High School and it’s catholic feeder schools who all took part in the liturgy. The Mass was celebrated by Bishop Ralph, Fr John and Fr Evangelist from St Joseph’s.

All the students at the High School have attended a CAFOD Harvest assembly with CAFOD volunteer Jenny Allen going into school each day over the past week. Jenny said ‘I have really enjoyed going into school to give the assemblies and it has been a pleasure attending today’s Mass’.

At the end of the Mass St Pius presented CAFOD with a cheque for £130, money they had raised over the harvest week through the presence of collection boxes in form rooms. They also presented St Wilfrid’s drop in centre with food collected by the schools over the harvest period.

Thank you to ALL the schools involved, you have responded brilliantly to the gospel call to ‘Love your neighbour’. Thanks also to Mrs Reynolds, schools chaplain for her invitation and arrangements throughout the week.
