St. William of York to show Romero film

St. William of York in Sheffield would like to invite you to watch a film tracing the life of Archbishop Oscar Romero.

Oscar Romero

Oscar Romero, former archbishop of San Salvador

This year marks the centenary of the birth of Blessed Oscar Romero, former archbishop of San Salvador who was assassinated in 1980 while saying Mass the day after pleading with the security forces to stop killing innocent civilians.  Commemorative events are being held throughout the world to mark this important anniversary. This deeply moving film traces his journey as Archbishop and his tireless defense of the poor of San Salvador.
